As you know, Hurricane Katrina has devastated the Gulf Coast.
Our thoughts and sympathies go out to the thousands of people who
have been impacted by this national disaster. It is our sincere
wish that you and your families have remained safe.
In order to ensure that evacuees are not turned away in this time
of need, we are reaching out to those in our provider community who
may begin to see an influx of patients seeking care outside the
state of Louisiana.
In addition to caring for those clearly identified as Beech Street
patients, we are asking that you also accept patients associated
with BestCare, Inc. of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Many individuals’ ID
cards do not yet carry the Beech Street logo, as the transition
since the acquisition is still in progress.
If any BestCare individuals seek care with you,
please treat them as if they are Beech Street patients. You can
identify them by locating the BestCare logo on their ID
cards:
We are actively trying to confirm clients affected by Katrina. So
far, we know Gilsbar Insurance Services, FARA/State of Louisiana
OGB/MCO Option, and Total Benefit Services have been
impacted.
Gilsbar established an interim toll free number
for calls relating to eligibility and benefit information at
800.331.3145.
FARA rerouted their 800 number and their Web site
is functional. FARA also recently acquired
Total Benefit Services. Both may be reached
at 800.259.8388 or via their Web site at www.farabenefits.com.
