What if I don't want to enter a complete street address?
A complete street address is not required. You may put in any of the following
combinations: street address + zip, city + state, zip only, or all fields. For
best results include the zip code.
Can I just enter my city?
Because there are many same-name cities in different states, you must also
enter the state information when inputting a city. For best results, include
the zip code too. Additionally, the geo-coded searches are based on actual city
names; therefore if you live in Hollywood, CA, you should enter Los Angeles, CA.
How can I get the best results on a location search?
For the most accurate results, enter information in all fields provided. If
street address is unknown, a zip code will also produce very accurate results
listings.
How does the location search work?
The location search interprets the address of a location and assigns latitude
and longitude coordinates to the desired location. The coordinates are then plotted
as a point and compared to other locations for proximity. If only zip or
city+state information is provided, the application will find the center point
of the zip code or city and find the desired radius from this center point.
Do I have to know the doctor or practitioner's first and last name to find him/her?
No, it is not necessary to enter both the first and last name. However, Beech
Street has over 320,000 providers, so if you know the first and last name
and/or the state in which the provider is located, this will help narrow your
search.
What is a Tax ID number?
A Tax ID number is used by providers to identify themselves to employers and
the government during the billing process. Beech Street corporate customers or
payers will utilize this search option to locate providers based on this
nine-digit number.
What if I want a list of doctors or practitioners of several specialties?
The Provider Directory provides mapping capabilities and multiple search
options to find specific providers. If you would like a listing of many
providers spanning several specialties please choose the "Create Personal
Directory" option at the navigation bar on the top of the previous page.
This will allow you to select multiple specialties through a similar interface.
You choose multiple specialties by holding down the "Ctrl" button on
your keyboard and using your mouse to select each desired specialty from the
scroll-down window.
Can I get a list of specialty and facility type definitions?
Yes, we have provided definitions for doctor or practitioner specialties as
well as facility types. Click on the specialty and facility definition links
provided in the blue side-bar on the previous page next to Step 2.
How do I print a result screen?
Use your browser's print function to print any results screen, including the
map. Simply press on the print button in the tool bar at the top of your screen.
Once I find the provider I am looking for, can I look at a map with just this location?
Yes. On the provider profile screen you will find an icon and link that says "Map this location." Click on this icon to generate a map with this
provider's location.
What is the administrative information on the profile page for?
This information is provided to Beech Street's corporate customers (payers) to
help them more efficiently process claims received from the providers in our
network.
What if the provider I am looking for is not in your database?
If the provider you are looking for is not in our database, you can submit a
Physician Nomination form to Beech Street and we will contact the provider
about joining the Beech Street network. This process does take time and does
not guarantee acceptance, so therefore you should select an alternate provider
in the meantime.
Is there someone I can call if I need help finding provider information not available here?
The Beech Street Network Referral department is also available at1-800-877-1444 .
