We believe that all healthcare management products and services are not created equal.  Beech Street understands that each organization is different and does not always experience the same challenges and conditions. With this in mind, we work with you to analyze your specific data and your unique experience so that we provide your organization’s population with a flexible, customized solution that meets your needs.

Our Clinical Services are designed so that all patients receive the appropriate level of care and include:

Utilization Management (UM)

Our UM program reviews medical services for necessity, appropriateness and efficiency to ensure that a patient receives the right level of care. UM reduces the number of unnecessary or inappropriate healthcare services by approving admissions and procedures, determining length of stay and conducting discharge verification. Beech Street is able to customize which services require authorization based on a client’s benefit plan design.

Beech Street’s UM program consistently exceeds nationally published bed day utilization targets for both loosely and moderately managed care.

UM Lite

UM Lite is a cost-effective alternative UM program for clients who do not require discharge verification services. UM Lite is intended to proactively identify and refer patients to our Case Management and Disease Management programs based on a patient’s presenting symptoms or admission diagnosis.

Case Management

Beech Street Case Managers are registered nurses who make the healthcare system work for both the patient and the client by influencing and managing quality, cost, satisfaction and optimal health status across all healthcare settings. Our nurses care for patients with acute, chronic and catastrophic illnesses and conditions. Each client is assigned its own team of nurses that work in partnership with the client, doctor, patient, and family to facilitate and coordinate the most appropriate care, service, and patient-centered approaches to education and self care management.

Disease Management

Our Disease Management program, Managing for Tomorrow®, provides personalized information and behavior modification tools that are customized to help individuals take control of particular conditions and live healthier lifestyles.  Participants are furnished with materials including surveys, personalized feedback, home testing kits, provider materials and seasonal newsletters.  Active participants are better equipped to improve self-management skills and work with their doctors to set achievable goals, and they have more successful overall outcomes than those who have no program in place or do not actively participate.

A distinct advantage of the program is our nurse intervention for those patients at high risk due to chronic conditions.  Nurses act as personal health trainers who support, educate and empower participants to improve their ability to manage their health and improve their quality of life.

Maternity Options Management (MOM)

MOM is an early identification and intervention program to help give moms and babies a healthy start with pregnancies, births, and newborn care.
