The Supplemental Network Program was designed to help streamline administrative issues for participating providers who may not participate with the primary network offered to the participants of the client. Most health plans experience significant charge volume outside their primary networks. Providers who fall outside of the primary network often encounter an unpredictable reimbursement methodology, as applied by the payer. They can also experience increased accounts receivable and collection issues since many payers direct payment for out-of-network services to the patient instead of to the provider. The Supplemental Network Program, a non-logo'd network product, offers the following features to assist with administrative issues:

  • Since payment is based on the contract rate, reimbursement is more predictable.
  • Easy identification of participants in the program. Just cross reference the insurer, third party administrator, or payer listed on the explanation of payment with the list of Supplemental Network Program clients on our website.
  • Explanations of payment clearly identify Beech Street, ppoNEXT, Viant or one of our affiliate companies.
  • Potential for reduced administrative expenses related to individual claim negotiation for participating providers and clients.
  • Normal procedures to verify eligibility apply. Just call the benefit office number listed on the patient's insurance card.
  • Improved management of accounts receivable. Since payers direct payment of covered services to the provider instead of to the patient, patient accounts receivable amounts are reduced.

The Supplemental Network Program does not require direction mechanisms.
